Macro Friendly Lasagne

  • 500g Lean Mince Meat

  • 1 Onion (Chopped)

  • 4 Garlic cloves (Crushed)

  • 1 Tin Chopped Tomatoes

  • Salt & Pepper

  • 1 tbsp Tomato Ketchup

  • 1 tbsp Tomato Puree

  • ½ tsp Dried Oregano

  • 1tsp Worcester Sauce

  • 1 Bay Leaf

  • Low Fat Cooking spray

    For the White Sauce:

  • 300ml Skimmed Milk

  • Dash of nutmeg

  • Salt & Pepper

  • 25 g Corn Flour

  • 80g Cheese (You can reduce this if you’d prefer or use a low fat version to reduce calories further)

  • 2 Sheets Fresh Pasta (More if you prefer)


1.Heat Oven to 200C/180C Fan/gas

2.Spray a pan with low fat cooking spray on a medium heat. Add onions, Garlic & Mince.

3.Cook until the mince has turned brown

4.Add tinned Tomatoes, Puree, Ketchup & Oregano Mix. Then add the bay leaf in the middle and simmer

5.Now you can start the white sauce

6.In a pan add the milk. DO NOT LET IT BOIL.

7.Once it starts to froth/bubble around the edge spoon 4 tbsp of the hot milk into the cornflour and mix into a paste.

8.Add the dash of Nutmeg, Salt & Pepper to the saucepan of milk

9.Now add the cornflour and whisk (don’t stop, it will stick)

10.Once its thick spoon half the meat mixture into a baking dish and place a pasta slice on top then add the other half of the meat mixture

11.Pour the white sauce on top and sprinkle with grated cheese

12.Bake for 20-30 Min or until cheese is browned & the white sauce is bubbling

13. Serve with sides of your choice, salad, veg, or on it’s own!
